Springtime Indoors

When the COVID virus lockdown began in March 2020, I embarked on a ‘drawing-a-day’ project, based on making images of the blossoming of flowers, shrubs and trees in my local park. I noted that the spring of 2020 was the sunniest since 1929, one of the cruel ironies of enforced lockdown. This gave me the idea to bring springtime into my home.

Between March and May 2020, I made 75 images; 39 are shown below. Each image was created in three stages, beginning with a pencil drawing. Next, I photographed each drawing then transferred the result onto my iPad where I used Procreate to add colour. All the prints are available for sale on Canson Aquarelle Giclee art paper (40cm x 30cm, 310 gsm)
